Quick Start Guide
Emoji Hangman is easy to learn! Follow these simple steps to get started.
đŽ Creating a Challenge
- Click "Create Challenge" on the main menu
- Enter your name
- Type or select emojis that represent your answer
- Enter the answer that players need to guess
- Add an optional hint to help players
- Choose a category
- Click "Create & Share"
đ¯ Playing a Challenge
- Click "Play Challenge" on the main menu
- Enter your name
- Enter the room code you received from the creator
- Click "Join Challenge"
- Look at the emojis and try to guess what they mean!
đŦ Making Guesses
Type your guesses in the box below and press Submit or press Enter. You have 7 guesses before the hangman is complete!

đą Pass-the-Phone Mode (Local Multiplayer)
đŽ Great for playing together in person!
- Creator creates a challenge and shows their phone/device to the other player
- The other player looks at the emojis and guesses out loud
- Creator types the guess in the text field
- Creator clicks Submit to submit the guess
- Perfect for parties, family gatherings, or playing face-to-face!
đ˛ Game Rules
- You have 7 wrong guesses before the game ends
- Each wrong guess adds a part to the hangman drawing
- Guess the correct answer to win!
- You can use the hint button (đĄ) if the creator provided one
- You can't see the word length - you must guess based on emojis alone!
đ¯ Special Challenge Mode
Try the "Guess the special emoji" mode for an extra difficult challenge! This mode features tricky emoji puzzles that will test your creativity and knowledge.
đą Sharing Challenges
After creating a challenge, you'll get a unique room code. Share it with friends via:
- WhatsApp - Click the WhatsApp share button for instant sharing
- Copy Share Link - Copy the link and share it on any platform:
- X (Twitter)
- TikTok
- Snapchat
- Discord
- Telegram
- Or any other messaging app or social media platform!
- Room Code - Or just share the room code directly and have friends enter it manually
- QR Code - Scan the QR code to instantly join the challenge
đĄ Pro Tip: The share link works best because it automatically loads the challenge for your friends. Just paste it anywhere - Facebook, X, TikTok, Instagram stories, or any messaging app!
đ My Challenges (Creator Dashboard)
If you've created challenges, you'll see a "đ My Challenges" button on the main menu.
- Click "My Challenges" to see all challenges you've created
- View active challenges with player counts and status
- Click "âšī¸ End" to manually end a challenge at any time
- Ended challenges automatically disappear from the list
- See real-time updates on who's playing and who's won
đ Multiplayer Features
- Real-time Notifications - See when other players win or lose while you're playing
- Leaderboard - View rankings of all players who've attempted your challenge
- Live Updates - Creators see live updates on the share screen when players join and play
- Challenge Status - See if a challenge has ended before joining
â Tips for Success
- Think about what the emojis represent - sometimes it's literal, sometimes it's a play on words!
- Consider the category hint - it can narrow down your options
- Don't be afraid to use the hint if you're stuck
- Try different phrasings - the game is flexible with how you word your guesses
- Have fun and be creative with your own challenges!
